Pliant enterprise SSD with super high speeds, copies 2TB data in an hour only

Pliant Technology, a relatively new startup (a three-year-old) has produced a 3.5-inch Enterprise-grade SSD which can deliver read and write speeds of 500MB/sec and 320MB/sec respectively. These are equivalent to copying contents of a 2Tb drive in around an hour only.

The Pliant SSD is claimed to be used for unlimited daily writes for at least five years without slow down. The magic behind is the Pliant’s products use serial-attached SCSI (SAS) interface instead of the usual fiber channel interface used in most enterprise SSDs.

The company is currently making two models of these super high-speed SSDs, which are the 2.5 inch and 3.5 inch versions. The 2.5-inch version delivers slower speeds of up to 420MB/sec for read and 220MB/sec for write. The drives are now available for companies to purchase but the product has not yet been tested independently, leaving uncertainty with the accuracy of those speeds claimed.
