SurfShelf is a gadget that attaches your laptop to your treadmill or elliptical, which you can have the laptop right in front of you during your workouts. So you can keep yourself connected to the Internet, blogging or watching some cool videos online.
SurfShelf was first prototyped by Randy Fenton in the US, which he wanted to a laptop to keep himself amused with Internet video during his workouts. The original one was made in his garage out of a piece of plywood. Fenton was impressed by his own SurfShelf then he decided to build a company around it.
SurfShelf allows Fenton to keep increasing his fitness level at the same time, he can stay connected to the Internet, getting various updates including breaking news, sporting highlights and interesting online videos.
There are still minor improvements need to be done on SurfShelf, such as an easier way to change web address. Fenton also created in-gym dot com, which is a way to streamline the process and allow just the arrow keys to navigate between sites. SurfShelf should be able to make a hit, if the total cost of owning it is much cheaper than owning a treadmill that comes integrated with a computer.
