Most netbooks do not come with a DVD player, unless you hook up an external player to your netbook. Or else you will need to install those software via a USB flash drive. But most installers of Windows software are available on DVDs, especially operating systems such as Windows XP, Vista and & etc.
Here comes the WinsToFlash, a handy tool that can convert a Windows installer on DVDs into a USB-based installer. The WinToFlash can transfer Windows XP, Vista, 7 and also server OSes such as Server 2003 and 2008 onto a USB flash drive. Some more the WinToFlash can also transfer Windows Preinstallation Environment to a USB flash drive.
Using the WinToFlash is easy, it just launches a wizard and guides you through. You just need to tell WinToFlash where the installation files you wanna transfer and you can either let the wizard to take care of the rest or you can specify some settings such as what kind of format the flash drive will undergo. Lifehacker has tested it and it took them only 12 minutes to turn a Windows 7 DVD into a USB-based installer. Once you’ve got a USB-based installer, you can then install it onto a netbook, laptop or a computer, which has only USB ports but does not come with a DVD player.
