Cloud Telecomputers has announced a desktop phone that comes with an 8-inch touchscreen display and runs the Android OS. It is likely the first time we’ve seen that a desktop phone runs Android. This desktop phone sits on the “Glass Platform” and taps on many features available with the Google Android OS such as visual voice mail, SMS, email, calendar and it’ll work with most Android applications.
The Glass-powered Desktop Phone can work with most landlines, SIP and VOIP clients and will also be compatible with Google Voice. It also supports Bluetooth, so you can pair your mobile phone with the Cloud Telecomputers desktop phone via Bluetooth and use it to answer calls on your mobile phone.
The desktop phone is also compatible with MS Outlook. You can use it to look up a phone number in the contact list on Outlook and dial directly through the device. The Cloud Glass desktop phone will be available next year, in the price range between $600-$700.
