Freecom hard drive locked and unlocked using AES-encrypted RFID keycard
Freecom has launched their new Hard Drive Secure, comes with extra security measurement that needs the user to use an AES-encrypted RFID keycard to lock and unlock the drive.

Those security-conscious users can make use of the additional security feature to protect their precious contents stored on the Freecom drive. The user just needs to swipe the RFID keycard over the reader for either locking and unlocking the hard drive.

The Freecom Hard Drive secure comes with two keycards, so you can have one stored away safely, use it in the case the first is lost. Using keycards on the hard drive also eliminates the need to remember passwords and the AES encryption is reliable enough to protect your data; even when the drive is stolen, unauthorized users will not be able to access the data on it.
