Japanese FreeBit has created an iPhone Server farm, a portable rack that allows you to slot in up to 5 iPhones (old models only) to form a temporary network attached storage. So the contents on the phones can be shared over the network.
Basically the iPhone server farm is just a prototype meant to showcase the company’s Serversman software. A free software that allows iPhone, iPod Touch, Windows Mobile based smartphones to hook up to network, to be used like a NAS, file or a web server, and share out the contents on the phones for access over network. The clip below shows how it works.
