Netbooks do not come with built-in DVD player, in order to maintain their compact size. Thanks to Logitech, having announced a portable DVD player which should be a great companion for netbooks, and allows the users to playback movies on DVDs while on the run.
The Logitec portable DVD player is directly powered by the USB port of the computer. It also doubles as a boot drive that comes in handy when your hard drive crashes and you need to reinstall the operating system. The drive can read both single and dual layer DVD. It will be out in Japan in October for $55 but no news whether it’ll make its way to other countries.
