4,000 Watt electric Roadster for summer slow ride

electric 2-person roadster
If you had extra bucks to burn, you could get the 4K-watt electric roadster from Hammacher, so you could then bring your loved one for a slow joyride in the sunshine. This 4,000 watt roadster is only meant for two persons, which isn’t suitable for those with a big family.

The little electric roadster travels no faster than 25mph. It has six lead-acid batteries, which are the only power source for its 4,000-watt AC motor. The six batteries can let you travel up to 60 miles at maximum speed of 25mph before requiring a recharge.

The electric roadster is equipped with automatic transmission system, the suspension and the wheelbase are good enough for you to travel over little bumpy roads and make safe turning.

    *facepalm*

It’s stuff like this that gives electric cars a bad rep. Sure it looks like the ultra cool Smart Brabus, but it’s got about one-fifteenth of the power… good luck climbing any hills with that amazing 5.5 BHP…

Pity really, you could get almost as much range with a more powerful motor and the same batteries, if you kept the (very low!) speed cap in place. It’d only burn a little extra when climbing or accelerating and about the same when cruising.

If only it could make 45 like the G-Wiz it might be more practical and not a mobile roadblock.
