Cockroaches are much stronger than human in terms of their heart. The heart of the roaches has multiple chambers (13 of them, with plenty of redundancy), which one of them fails will not cause a problem to the roaches at all. Unlike human heart that has only four chambers, no redundancy, when one fails, the life will most likely end.
The Biventricular Pump artificial heart developed by at the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur, uses the same concept that God used to make the cockroach heart, will come with multiple chambers. This multi-chamber artificial heart has huge improvement in its long term reliability when compared with with more traditional pneumatic designs.
