
Olympus E-P1 is Olympus’ first Micro Four Thirds digital camera that comes in a small, compact, retro-style case yet maintains the nice features of a DSLR camera. The little E-P1 is claimed as the next generation of Olympus Pen in the digital era.
The E-P1 comes in a stylish metal finish and it has an optional FL-14 which makes it to look more like the classic Olympus Pen F. This little E-P1 is great for a wide range of shooting styles and has wide compatibility with all Micro Four Thirds lenses, via an adapter, it can work with the full range of existing Four Thirds lenses. The EP-1 also has adapters that suit OM lenses and those made by others manufacturers.

The E-P1 is equipped with a 12.3 megapixel Live MOS sensor and image processing is done by the new Olympus Pen E-P1’s TruePic V image processor, which produces best quality of images and videos at up to an incredible ISO 6400 and the speeds of processing are great as well.
The Olympus E-P1 is equipped with a 3-inch HyperCrystal LCD and with the help of the Live Control interface to provide easy operations for the users. The camera has the intelligent i-Auto option which allows the camera to automatically adjust to six common scene modes such as landscape, portrait and night etc.

The Olympus E-P1 has also been fitted with latest Olympus technologies that make it capable of delivering D-SLR image quality. The camera is assisted with technologies such as image stabilization and it comes with the first Olympus interchangeable lenses specially designed for the new Micro Four Thirds format.
The Olympus Pen E-P1 is capable of recording 5 minutes of high-res HD (1280×720p) at a frame rate of 30fps in one single shot. It supports movie recording and playback in formats in AVI format at both the 4:3 and wide screen 16:9 aspect ratios.
The E-P1 will be available in two color options: silver or white and it’s expected to hit the store together with its two accompanying Micro Four Thirds lenses in July 2009.
