It’s another MID phone that we wanna show you here. The LonMID M100 mobile Internet device has had its prototype shown even before the Computex, and now this device has been officially released on the company website.

The final product of the LonMID M100 has a few differences from the prototype. It comes in different color scheme and also has some other differences such as the external phone keypad has been omitted. The device features a 4.8-inch WVGA touchscreen inside, and a smaller 2.4-inch QVGA screen outside. There is also a flat panel underneath which could use backlit and touch-sensitive buttons.

The entire device measures 6.2 x 3.5 x 1.1 inch. Other confirmed specs are a 800MHz Intel Atom Z500 processor, up to 1GB of RAM, a 4GB SSD and it runs the Midinux Linux OS. The device also supports various wireless connectivities such as Wireless b and g, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and a built-in 3G modem as it has a SIM slot.

The LonMID M100 also has a microSD card slot, USB 2.0 port, miniUSB port and a headphone jack, plus a microphone. There is no information about its availability and price at the moment.

I’d love to have this unit since it reminds me so much of the IMATE JASJAR I have, but I notice that no matter what site I happen to go to thats advertising this unit, when it comes to it’s specs, NEVER does it mention the phone specs eventho its stating that it does in fact have a phone within. Why are the phone specs being evaded or eliminated.
