Mechanical Memory Key is a USB flash drive that has a number of detailed mechanical gears exposed on its case. The case of this USB flash drive has taken lots of handmade effort from its creator, who is a UK Artist, Rob Smith.
It took Rob about 12 hours to make the case from wood and those gears are made from parts from 6 different pocket watches. The product page claims: “The key is made out of purple heart & has approximately 26 Ruby’s which look great when the key catches the light, & when the Keys plugged into a USB, it glows green from underneath the gears giving the key a good sense of movement.”

It carries a whopping $165 price tag, with a moderately acceptable storage capacity of 16GB. But if you’re an artistic geek who appreciates the detailed mechanical gears on the case, then you wouldn’t mind to burn your pocket for the Mechanical key.
