Alereon is one of the contributors for wireless USB technology and they’re now readying a wireless USB accessory for the iPhone and iPod Touch this month at the Computex.
The Alereon’s wireless USB accessory will allow iPhone and iPod Touch to be able to wirelessly synchronize to a Mac or PC. The wireless connection allows the user to update playlists or download new tracks to the iPhone without having to dock the device. The accessory will connect directly to the charge port of the iPhone or iPod Touch.
Other than providing wireless USB connectivity, the device also allows iPhone or iPod Touch to operate longer than usual. As the Alereon device has an internal battery that adds extra juice to the iPhone or iPod Touch.
The Alereon accessory was built based on the low-power 90nm-LP AL5301 chip built in the 12-inch wafer plant owned by Samsung in Korea.
