Iomega has added new models into its eCo line of portable hard drive. The highest available storage capacity in this line is now 500GB version.
The eCo portable hard drives sport an anodized aluminum shell and they include the Iomega’s Drop Guard which is for the protection of data on the drives and allows the drives to survive from drops of up to 51 inches. This figure is 40% more “droppable” than the industry average.
The eCo drives also also boast of new Iomega Protection Suite, a one-stop backup and anti-virus software that allows easy backup and protection for photos, videos, music and other files.
The eCo line also has another exciting model, coming later in June, the 500GB eGo BlackBelt, which is equipped with a black eGo Power Grip Belt and Iomega’s Drop Guard Xtreme, providing unparalleled protection, allowing the drive to survive from drops of up to 7 feet (2.1 mm).
The eCo drives are available in a number of colors and capacities such as bright Ruby model is available in 250GB, 300GB and 500GB capacities; sparkling silver model is available in 320GB and the deep Midnight Blue model is available in 320GB.
About the price tags, the 250GB costs $85, 320GB costs $95, 500GB costs $135 and the upcoming eGo BlackBelt 500GB will cost $140.
