I definitely love the idea of having a netbook that absorbs solar energy for its power. As you wouldn’t have to worry about the battery will go flat during day time when sunlight is available. Some more, you don’t have to look for power outlet in order to keep yourself to continue working on the netbook.
A company called iUnika has unveiled a solar-powered netbook that comes equipped with a solar panel that can soak up solar juice to keep it running. This netbook is called GYY, packed with specs including a 400MHz processor, 128MB RAM and 64GB SSD. The processor and the RAM of this netbook are little short for average users, but the SSD should be sufficient for most needs.
The iUnika GYY netbook is kept with low specs to allow it draw less power, making it ideal for a solar panel to power it. It runs a proprietary Linux OS and features an 8-inch screen boasts a resolution of 800 x 400 pixels. The GYY will be available in Europe in June and carries a price tag of $200 only. But it seems like no sign whether it’ll make it to the US.
