
Extech has unveiled a new digital microscope which is different in shape from the usual microscopes seen in science labs. It’s compact in size, portable and is shaped more or less like a digital camera.
The Extech digital microscope is definitely handy for curious kids who always wanna find the details of bugs passing by. The Extech microscope offers a 7x to 27x optical zoom lens with a 4x digital zoom for a total of 108x magnification. And all of that magnification is packed into a small and portable device as shown in the picture.
The microscope is equipped with an 1.8-inch LCD display and it’s got a CMOS sensor that boasts 300,000 pixel. The device is also equipped with 4 LEDs which light to let the users see clearly on subjects. It has 2MB internal memory that is sufficient for storing up to 60 320 x 240 pixel images. It needs three AAA batteries for its power. A price tag of $299 making it less likely to be owned by kids. It’s more suitable for curious scientists or researchers, handy for them to bring along anywhere they go.
