Rubber-like OLED displays are super flexible kind of displays, which will likely be seen in future gadgets. This kind of new OLED display can be folded even for thousand times without losing their quality.
These rubber-like OLED displays are just fresh, which have just came out of the hands of Japanese researchers. They promise high stretchability and deformability like rubber. One of the OLED displays shown by the researchers was one shaped like a face, which can show different changing expressions. And another spherical display was able to show weather data.
The rubber-like OLEDs were produced by a layer of carbon nanotubes with a fluoro-rubber compound to produce a stretchy, conductive material. The current prototypes are 100 sq cm and have 256 monochrome pixels.
The super flexible OLED displays will make many possible shapes for the displays of gadgets such as spherical display or display like human face that could change for different expressions etc.
