I’m fascinated with this amazingly large 145-inch plasma TV, which has recently been unveiled by Shinoda Plasma Corporation. This plasma tube array is still in its prototype stage.
The array is comprised of six 1m by 1m PTA displays arranged in a three-by-two orientation. But the disappointing part is its resolution which manages to catch up to a rather low 960×720 pixels only. This plasma TV weighs about 7kg+ (16 lbs), which shouldn’t be considered as heavy with such a huge size.
This Shinoda plasma TV shall be the largest to date, which its size trumps the 125-inch PTA display’s that was shown last year. This 145-inch plasma TV is super thin as well, measures only 1mm in thickness. Each panel is coated in glass, phosphor-coated tubes that house the film electrode. This technology allows the display to be flexible and curved.
Power consumption for this 145-inch plasma TV falls in the range of 800w to 1,200W. Currently, Shinoda has secured two investors to go for mass production of these Plasma TVs. But the release date and the price are still unknown at the moment.
