WindCube, a wind power generator that is smaller than the common ones, and is able to generate up to 60kW. The WindCube is the product of Green Energy Technologies which has just been announced by the company.

This wind power generator is best installed on the roof of a building at those windy areas, so the users can obtain free and green electricity generated from the wind. The WindCube measures 22 x 22 x 12 feet and a single unit is able to generate up to 60kW of power.

This device is based upon the Bernoulli Principal to capture wind and amplify it and is able to produce electricity at wind speeds of 5 mph only. The WindCube is pretty efficient in producing electricity from the wind, an average wind speed of 15 mph allows it to produce about 160,000 kWh of power per year.

These systems while excellent, should be offered in scaled versions for the home user. (smaller)

Are there available plans for larger installations?

How well will the system survive saltwater exposure?

    What does one cost?
