
Here comes a set-top box announced by Digital Cowboy, codenamed Media Cowboy DC-MC35ULI. This device works like a media hub that lets you hook up your PMP, iPod to it for playing audio and video.
This set-top box is able to play most audio and play video formats in 720p. It can hook up to an external SATA hard drive via its built-in 3.5-inch HDD bays, to play those audio and videos on the hard drive. It also has an iPod dock, which you can sit the iPod on its dock connector on top for playing back music and videos. It’s also equipped with Ethernet connectivity which allows the users to share files with others over a network.
You can even view YouTube video clips and Picasa images on this set-top box. It comes with a remote control which allows you to control the media stored on the hard drive or the connected iPod. This set-top box supports various audio and video formats including MP3, WMA, AAC, AC3, DTS, DivX, RMVB, WMV, MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and XViD.
The available inputs on this device are RCA and USB. Whereas the outputs are TCA, optical audio and HDMI for hooking up to HDTV for playback of HD video. The Media Cowboy DC-MC35ULI is expected to hit Japan next month for the equivalent of $255.
