A brainy guy has built this steam-powered USB charger, which relies on a Jensen #75 steam engine, used to drive a Lego Technic motor. The motor then feeds into a regular voltage regulator, to continuously provide 5V charge to any USB device (iPod, PMP, cellphone that is chargeable via USB).
The major drawback would be the engine noise produced by this charger, which simply makes it hardly-tolerable by those who love quiet environment for their work.
A video is attached below that shows this steam engine in action for charging an iPod. Seriously, I hate the engine noise!
