HD video has been brought into medical use to provide very much better precision than before. The world’s first Surgical system that uses 3D HDTV for remote surgical operation has surfaced, it’s called the da Vinci Si Surgical system.
The system is equipped with four robotic arms and one channel of HD video for each eye. This surgical system uses HD content to provide superior visual clarity of target tissue and anatomy, potentially allowing for greater surgical precision. With the da Vinci Si system, surgeons are able to perform remote surgical operation with superb precision by only watching the HD images on the 3D HDTV.
The major drawback is the price of this system which could cost zillions of dollars. Currently there is no price information for this system. Attached below is a video introducing the surgical system.
