
The Motorola Media Mover is a video gadget that is able to transcode all sorts of video stored on your DVR into a format that works best on whatever end device you have for playback. It’s able to adjust for SD or HD content automatically and beam the content locally or remotely to cellphones or computers.
Motorola hopes this video gadget will become “Swiss Army knife” of USB gadgets. The Media Mover supports Bluetooth and WiFi connectivities that allow it to beam the transcoded video content to other gadgets and computers wirelessly.
Motorola has demoed this media mover at the Cable Show, where they had the demo on a Q9 cellphone, laptop, and iPhone, which the video content was transcoded by the Media Mover from a set-top box. Motorola also demoed how the Media Movr was used with a SD card for offloading content and how it was hooked up to a low-res nanny cam.

The Motorola Media Mover connects to the DVR via USB port, it’s best used to take your video content beyond your home. The Media Mover has a web server that allows the recorded video content accessible by any other devices that are on WiFi network or connected to the Internet. Take a look at the demo video below:
At the moment, the release date and price have not been announced yet. But it shall be released in low cost, which will also be integrated with the existing/future devices of Motorola’s cable partners to add value to existing services or subscriptions.
