Here comes the SRV-1 Mobile surveillance Robot, a palm-sized tank-like bot that can be used to go around every corner in your home or office to explore dangerous terrain and report to you via consistent video feeds.
The SRV-1 mobile robot is powered by a 1000MIPS 500MHz Blackfin BF537 processor and equipped with a mini video camera that captures video footage when it goes round in your house or office. The SRV-1 bot also supports 802.11b/g WiFi connectivity, which allows it to interact with a PC remotely.
The SRV-1 robot includes a Java-based console software that has a built-in web server, which lets you control it via a web browser from anywhere in the world (Provided you hook it up to the Internet, assign it with an Internet-viewable IP or domain name). You can even archive the video feeds on demand or on a schedule basis.
The SRV-1 surveillance robot costs $475, comes fully assembled and ready to use out-of-box. But to setup the software, you need to posses little technical knowledge including Java, networking and dealing with the command line.
