Fujistsu is prepping a Amazon Kindle 2 killer, FLEPia, a color eBook reader which will be launched in Japan in on April 20th. The FLEPia features an 8-inch XGA screen that can display 260,000 colors.
The FLEPia also supports connectivities such as WiFi and Bluetooth. It’s storage can be expanded up to 4GB by the user of SD memory cards. The FLEPia is pretty thin, measures only half an inch and it has impressive battery life that is able to last for up to 40 continuous hours.
The screen of FLEPia is touchscreen, making it easy for users to flip through various eBooks and pages of e-Books. The Japanese version of the FLEPia will come loaded with the Windows CE 5.0 as the operating system, which may be little uneasy for the users as the refresh time of the e-ink is relatively slow (1.8 seconds per page refresh). As mentioned the FLEPia will be available in Japan on April 20th and it’ll be priced at 99,750 Yen or about $1,015 USD after the conversion.
