i-Mate has announced the Centurion, a credit-card-sized smartphone at the MWC 2009. The phone is obviously named after the American Express’ Black Card, Centurion. The company has also unveiled the Warrior laptop shell, which allows a contained smartphone to remotely access a PC or Mac.

Some patients have negative response to medication. In the past, there was no easy way to test out if a patient has any adverse reactions to prescribed medication. NHS has reportedly spent £460 million to treat 250,000 patients who are admitted to hospital due to adverse reactions to prescribed drugs.
Thanks to Imperial College London, they’ve successfully developed a handheld device that makes use of the analysis of genetical information, DNA, to predict if a patient would have any adverse reactions to any drugs to be prescribed.
The handheld device is called Single Nucleotide Polymorphism Doctor or SNP Dr in short and can be pronounced “snip doctor”. The device is able to identify the presence of specific DNA sequences in a patient’s genome, which might be the cause of any adverse reactions to certain medications.

Besides cellphones, LG also showed off their new model of Netbook at MWC 2009. The latest in their line is the LG-X120 Netbook. Since LG is good at making mobile phones, of course they’ll incorporate the mobile Internet connection into their new netbook. The LG-X120 Netbook comes with a built-in 3G, which allows you to hook up to high-speed HSPA connection, while WiFi hotspot is not avaialble. This LG netbook has a slot for you to insert a 3G SIM card, so you can then start surfing the Internet via 3G connection.
