Robots have been used extensively in hospitals or any therapy centers to assist patients. In Japan, robot is now to replace human to work as a nurse to deliver medication to the patients. This could hint that eventually human will lose their job of working as a nurse. (In certain countries, nurse is a pretty high-paying job).

Bad gases such as CO2, NOx and ammonia (NH3) will come out of your mouth, if you’re one who carries some diseases. If you’re a health-conscious geek, you may like the idea of having a cellphone to check your breath for diseases as well as checking others’ breath before the diseases transmitted to you.
Applied Nanodetectors Ltd. (AND) is currently working on a prototype of a cell phone that can detect bad gases and from that on it can tell whether you’re a carrier of any diseases.
This cell phone simply checks the breath of the users to detect those gases. The phone has a chip that is integrated with various sensors that are sensitive enough to detect bad gases in the bad breath. It just takes minutes for the cell phone to trace the mentioned gases.

Nokia wasn’t deemed aggressive enough at the MWC 2009, but at least they’ve unveiled their upcoming flagship phone for the N-series – the Nokia N86. The Nokia N86 is a slider phone that comes equipped with an 8-megapixel camera.

Here comes the good news for long-term stroke sufferers who have lost their mobility and stayed in a bed/wheelchair for several years. University of California at Irvine has carried a study of using robot-assisted therapy to help stroke victims to regain their mobility.

A super powerful new X-ray, Jeep beamline, is being constructed at Diamond Light Source in Oxfordshire and is claimed to be 10 billion times brighter than the sun. This super bright X-ray is to be launched in Autumn, which the main purpose is to help researchers uncover secrets lying in ancient cultural artifacts.
