Perhaps you have some messages you wanna convey via toasts in the early morning. Or you wanna stay tuned with the latest news on your toasts. Here comes the Scan Toaster, invented by designer Sung Bae Chang and has secured him the finalist in design competition run by manufacturer Electrolux.
The specialty of the Scan Toaster is it connects to your computer over USB, downloads feeds from the Internet including local weather conditions and the current time to the morning’s news headlines. The toaster has also got a network of toasting modules inside, which each is to be heated by a hot wire.
Each module can then move by 30 degree, once a user selects what they want on their toast, the modules will align themselves and burn the selected content onto the bread. The designer got his idea whilst making some toast. It seems like it’s a completely working prototype, but no news for any mass production yet.
