In 1970, Sanyo’d already had the fancy idea of producing a futuristic bath machine. The machine so called Ultrasonic Bath was displayed at the Osaka world expo in that year.
The machine is most appropriately called the human washer or sauna machine, that will be able to wash, rinse and even dry your body. But unfortunately, till today the machine has not made it to the consumer homes.
The machine has a big chamber, you need to use a ladder to climb in through its opening on top, and sit inside to enjoy its 15-minute ultra-sonic bathing program.
The 15-minute bathing consists of a five-minute spraying you with hot water, followed by three-minute massage bath with high-pressure jets which create “golf-ball-sized” massage balls that claim to stimulate better blood circulation. There is also an ultrasonic air generator which creates bubble that is able to take dirt away from your skin. The next five minutes will be a dry cycle that has a 2-minute hot rinse cycle to come first. And the final step is to use infrared or ultraviolet rays to zap any residual germ left.

This ultrasonic bathing machine definitely sounds pretty promising to keep you completely cleansed from dirt and germs. But unfortunately, Sanyo has not made it to the market for 30+ years, which could most likely due to they haven’t got enough in terms of lower cost of all those technologies or components needed to build this machine.
