Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology has unveiled a new robotic power suit which is made to help aging countryside farmers to continue their farming work without being hindered by age factor.

In another word, the power suit will likely spoil the early retirement plan of those farmers. With the FarmBot power suit, they’ll be able to work even though they have lost the strengths in their joints and muscles.

The FarmBot powersuit weighs 55 pounds, which I guess it shouldn’t bring too much burden when it’s put on the body of those aging farmers. And it’s equipped with eight motors and 16 sensors.

This robotic power suit is designed to completely eliminate the need for aging farmers to strain their joints or muscles while lifting and moving various objects. Priced at $5,000-$10,000, and expected to hit the market in two years’ time, so Japanese farmers will have no excuse to call for early retirement then.
