The application employs voice recognition technology and is able to translate up to 1,500 spoken phrases that mostly centered on travel/tourist situations and basic communication.
This application is useful for the Japanese to travel to an English or Chinese-speaking country. Just speak those Japanese words out, the application will then translate it into into English or Chinese.
The application may also be useful for English speakers as a study aid to help them learn the Japanese language. For only 1,800 yen ($20 USD), it is now available and can be purchased here.
