The Chinese makers are good at copying some designs from branded phones. And occasionally, they also copy the brand names of the commonly known branded phones. Here comes the HKC Pearl, which is no exceptional that is also a fake phone that simply makes use of the brand names of HTC and BlackBerry Pearl.
Apart from the naming, this HKC phone is one of the number of Chinese phones that also runs Android as the operating system. Besides, it also offers a version that runs Windows Mobile 6.1. Unfortunately, the phone is not packed with high-speed data connectivity. There is no 3G support, the highest you can go with this phone is only EDGE, which is definitely much slower than 3G/HSDPA.
Other goodies that can be found on the HKC Pearl cellphone, are a 2.8-inch 240×320 touchscreen display, a 2 megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, Music Player, 256MB ROM, 128MB RAM and it’s powered by a 624MHz processor.
There is no word on pricing and availability. Anyway, it’s specially made for the Chinese market. With the very close similarity in naming, it’s probably not too hard to deceive buyers that the phone is associated with those big names.
