Energizer has incorporated green element into their latest battery charger, which is to make use of sun juice to charge those rechargeable AA and AAA batteries.
The device is basically a simple battery charger which comes with an AC jack and a flip-out solar panel for collecting sun juice. When sunlight is available, the charger is able to soak up sunlight using the solar panel to charge the batteries. Or when you’re in dark, you can connect the charger to an AC source to juice up your batteries.
The Energizer solar charger also comes with a handy USB port which allows it to be used as a power extender for almost all USB powered devices. Most gadgets, such as cellphones, cameras, GPS devices are chargeable via USB ports these days. So, it’s definitely a handy piece to have to extend the power of your gadgets when the juice is running out.
Some more, it’s weather proof, which is handy to bring along anywhere you go. Energizer is expected to keep the price down at a reasonable $50. And the official announcement is expected at CES 2009.
