An Australian has designed an RFID enabled poker table that is able to trace every movement of every card. Each card will come equipped with an RFID chip. The setup even tells where cards lie even in a full, vertical deck.
Th setup was done by the Australian, Andrew Milner, which he got every card to be attached with a very thin and tiny RFID card. And he used for HD cameras to trace the movements of of each card, and also running into a video encoder to create a live feed.
It all depends on a custom software that mixes the feeds with the data from the RFID chips, which enables the viewer to see where each card is and what each player is doing. The RFID tag is even thin enough to stack properly in a full deck.

This setup could be misused by some underground casinos, making it to trace the movements of every card, so they can then decide how to tackle those players making them having less chance to win. Milner, chairman of an IT company, spent about $7,000 for his setup. But if the setup does bring higher chance or sure win to a casino, they would spend that kind of money even it would eventually costs more than $7,000. Take a look at the video how the RFID-enabled poker table in action.

WOW! This is the first I have heard of this technology and it certainly raises huge implications with live poker games if misused but also great possibilites in the game broadcasting arena. Excellent article!
