Washing dishes in the kitchen perhaps is not an easy job for the modern housewives. How nice is that Panasonic has addressed this problem, by having developed their KAR robot arm which is made specially to handle all those dirty dishes.
The KAR robotic arm is developed by a group of researchers from Panasonic and the University of Tokyo. Having this robotic arm, it eases very much the life of a modern housewife. At least when you get home from work, you won’t feel like dealing with those dirty dishes. And how you wish that you could have a maid to do that for you, so you could sit on the couch, relax and watch TV. But to have a maid will be a long-term running cost. Having one of this robotic arms is good enough if you just want it to handle your dishes.
The Panasonic’s KAR robot arm doesn’t actually wash the dishes for you. What it does is to pick up dishes gently without breaking them or making a mess, and rinse and load them your dishwasher. Meaning that in order to have your dirty dishes washed, you must have a dish washer as well. If you’re simply too lazy and reluctant to handle the “dirty job” of loading and rinsing dishes after a hard day, then this robotic arm will make your life much easier.
Fortunately, the researchers seem to be unsatisfied how this robotic arm performs for now, they should be further developing it into something that will eventually be able to clean up after a family of four in just five minutes. Take a look at the video of this robot arm in action
