A new company called Lumicure has been incorporated which is stepping into developing the OLED technology. The company got a $5 million of venture capital funding in early this year and reportedly to have made excellent progress.

Eventually, the product will be a light emitting device which looks like a sticking plaster with a glowing orange lozenge in the middle that is powered by a lightweight battery pack, which can be carried in a belt or pocket like a gadget.

Lumicure hopes to bring their products out in the market in Q4 2009. Besides, they’re also working on a light source for acne treatment.
