When it comes to wanting more fruit juice, you’ve gotta squeeze it out of the fruit to get more juice. And the same method has been applied to a phone – the GettaGrip Musclephone.
When this phone is running out of juice, and you wanna get it to recharge, what you have to do is to squeeze it to let it charge its internal battery. You have to invest forty seconds of vigorous squeezing of the Musclephone to get its internal lithium-ion battery fully charged. Each hand needs to squeeze it for 20 seconds only, which is pretty easy to achieve.
The concept is straightforward. While it’s being squeezed vigorously, it produces kinetic energy which is then turned into electricity to charge the battery. Unfortunately, it seems like no information about how long the battery will last after every squeeze.
If it only lasts for couple of minutes of talk time, then you’ll get to build up the squeezing strength of both your hands, as you’ll always have to squeeze it to continue your conversation. Anyway, it’s a neat idea, at least you don’t have to search around for a charger when the phone runs out of juice.
