The VIA ARTiGO A2000 barebone storage server is one that comes in a mini size, and best used for storing the increasing amount of multimedia contents that you have at home.
The stylish case of this barebone server makes it easily blend well with the furniture and other appliances at home. It’s compact in size, features the same height of a CD, and is just 26cm long. The entire server measures 13.5cm wide x 12cm high x 26cm. This mini server is based around a 1.5 GHz VIA C7-D processor and the VIA VX800 media system processor, making it a compact, secure and power-efficient for home use.
The server is also equipped with components that are capable of delivering high-res graphics for smooth and compelling visual experience. On board, you’ll find the VIA VX800 Unified Digital Media IGP chipset, the VIA Chrome9 HC3 DirectX 9 graphics engine and hardware video acceleration which handle the graphics output.
This VIA ARTiGO A2000 mini server supports up to 2GB of 667/533 MHz DDR2 SODIMM memory and supports up to 3.0 TB of storage on two 3.5-inch S-ATA hard drives with data transfer speeds up to 3 Gb/s.
It also provides an option to install the operating system on a SSD (Solid State Drive) via the server’s CompactFlash socket. As mentioned, the motherboard of this server is a custom Nano-ITX form factor mainboard. It’s also equipped with silent ball-bearing fan to ensure it always remains cool without creating unwanted noise. This VIA Mini server also comes bundled with the VIA System Management Tool which is handy for 24/7 system monitoring.
