WaterMill is a home appliance that is capable of converting outdoor air into water. It’s said to be able to produce 13 quarts of fresh water everyday.
The device is great used at places which water shortage is a major problem. A spherical device, looks pretty much like a futuristic air conditioner, is said to be able condense, filter and sterilize water for about 3 cents per quart.
This device doesn’t come cheap, it carries an expensive price tag of $1,299. It’s made to target the individual households. If such a device is to be installed in a humid city, with many increasing numbers of households having it installed over times, it’ll impose a climate change of the city. Or at least it sucks away all the dampness in the air, making the city into drought due to very little rainfall as humidity decreases.
The maker of the WaterMill, the British Columbia-based company, Element Four is hoping to make the device a must-have for every household in 2009.
