Imagine some displays can be easily folded or scrolled up for easily sticking them to suit any shapes or edges, or to be easily integrated into a gadget as the roll-up electronic display.
It shouldn’t be too far from now, we would be able to see some gadgets surfacing in the market that come with flexible displays. Remember the concept gadget that we’ve seen before, which its screen can be scrolled up or slided in to make its size tinier and more pocket-friendly?
HP and the Arizona State University have decided to open up a flexible display center, and they’ve got a prototype of the flexible display. The flexible display is claimed to be easy to manufacture. These flexible displays are to be environmentally friendly too with their plastic construction and low power consumption.
The displays are crafted using self-aligned imprint lithography technology that was invented by HP. HP and AZU have not given a definite date when the flexible display to be available, they only hope to release it very soon.
