Sony Ericsson has just released the SE Xmini walkman phone in Japan, which looks rather weird compared to other SE’s previously released Walkman phones.
About the features, the SE Xmini is inferior to most latest Japanese cellphones. It’s not packed with those latest features such as 5-megapixel camera, 800 x 480 pixels display etc. But what makes it special is it looks like a regular Walkman player when it’s closed.

The Xmini is a slider, as mentioned, you wouldn’t notice that it’s actually a cellphone when the keypad is not slided out. So, when you slide it, the keypad appears, letting you know it’s actually a cellphone.

Since the phone is meant for music, you’ll also get a set of dedicated music keys hidden below the phone’s display. These keys only appear or get illuminated when you touch on it or when you wanna control the Walkman player.
The Xmini Walkman phone will be launched by KDDI in Japan, at the end of this month. They’ll most probably make it for Christmas. Take a closer look of the entire specs of the phone below:
- CDMA connectivity
- Clear stereo sound
- Bluetooth
- 4GB of internal memory
- 75 grams
- 75 x 44 x 18 mm
