If you have an iPod Touch but you don’t have an iPhone, you could access almost all the applications that an iPhone has on the iPod touch. But the only missing is you can’t make phone calls on the iPod Touch.
For some reasons you wanna save your pocket from buying an iPhone, and you wish to make use of your iPod Touch to make calls, then Truphone has the solution for you. Truphone was developed by an UK-based company which is an application that turns iPod Touch into an iPhone.
Strictly speaking, Truphone allows you to make phone calls via Internet telephony service. Once you have the Truphone app installed on your iPod Touch, you’ll be able to make free calls to other users of Truphone, other iPod Touch owner and to Google Talk users.
Currently, the Truphone allows the few mentioned basic Internet phone calls. But they will soon include more features such as the followings:
*Making and receiving low-cost calls to and from landlines
*Calling and instant messaging to Skype and MSN (free)
*Check and set facilities for Facebook (free)
*Check and set facilities for Twitter (free)
