Some clocks are meant to confuse you simply because of they have to sacrifice the easiness for some artistic purposes. The Art Lebedev Phrase Clock is a clock specially designed to tell time in phrases instead of numbers, which might be considered rather confusing by some people.
We’re not so used to reading phrases on a clock face. We’ve been more used to reading the numbers or the moving hands. The Art Lebedev Phrase Clock uses phrases to express its time such as “Twenty-nine past eleven a.m.” or “Half past ten”. But if you read these phrases out loud directly, it shall sound very meaningful to you and those who stay close to you.
And some more you can have up to different variations on a single “minute”. Just set it up to display the phrases that you’re most comfortable with. Such as 10:10 could be displayed as “ten ten”, “ten past ten”, “ten minutes past ten”, “fifty till eleven” or some other weird notations that you like.
You need to get the format you want preloaded onto this clock when you’re making a purchase of this clock from Art Lebedev. Send them an excel file that contains the proprietary formats that you want and they’ll do it for you.

This phrase clock is solely powered by USB port of your computer. It shall work as a great decor for your work desk with your computer around. But the downside is it must be attached to a computer for the USB power, as it doesn’t offer alternative power source.
