Nokia’s Z-Wave Home control center is an open platform that allows third parties to develop “plug and play” solutions to be integrated into cellphones or computers, to allow users to control or monitor various equipments at home such as temperature sensors, cameras, and motion detectors.
The system is useful for home owners to switch devices on and off and also for the control and monitoring the electricity usage of your home. It’ll also be integrated to more complex system such as security, heating, and ventilation etc.
The Nokia’s Smart Home control system will consist of a wireless N home gateway device with optional GSM/GPRS module, and to be integrated into a home network of Z-Wave and ZigBee-compliant devices.
The future devices that come integrated with this solution are expected to include pre-packaged Smart Home kits which shall provide options for starter, security, energy, and baby monitoring packs, when it goes on the shelf by end of 2009.

Nokia is a world giant in mobile technology and nothing less than a great technology is expected from it. This is so awsome, you can expect controlling whole of the house by a small mobile… great.
