The Takara Tomy Xiao TIP-521 is the first digital camera in the market that comes with a built-in ZINK printer. With the built-in printer, users can capture photos and print those images immediately anywhere.
As shown in the picture above the Tomy Xiao TIP-521 has an elongated body which is for the additional space needed to fit in the ZINK printer. The ZINK Printer doesn’t need ink. It uses ZINK Paper which is an advanced composite material with embedded yellow, magenta and cyan dye crystals. It uses heat to activate and colorize the crystals.
About the specs of the Tomy digital camera, it’s one that comes with 5-megapixel CMOS sensor, with a 2.4-inch LCD display, and 39mm equivalent fixed focal length lens. It has a built-in memory of 16GB, and equipped with SDHC/SD memory card slot for expansion. It prints borderless images directly onto the ZINK Paper which costs about 880 yen (about $9 USD) for set of 10. Printing one image to the ZINK paper takes less than 60 seconds.

The Tomy digital camera is available in three colors, which are black, magenta and green-marine. It will be available on Nov 28 for approximately 34,800 yen ($357) in Japan.
