If you intend to use your T-mobile HTC G1 outside of the US or with another network operator, you can get it unlocked by paying only $23 to Unlock-TMobileG1.com
Just send them the money, and the G1’s 15-digit IMEI code, which can be obtained by keying *#06# on your G1. And they’ll then give you the eight-digit unlock clock which frees your G1 from the T-Mobile. But there will be certain features fail to function such as unable to access GMail, and also means that you can’t access the Android market.
