Asus P552w phone runs Glide UI, with Google apps

Asus P552w is the new smartphone, which is the first one in its line to run the Glide UI. The phone sports a 2.8 inch screen, with GPS and supports high-speed Internet – 3.5G/HSPA.

The OS of this smartphone has been well designed to work closely with Google applications, to give the users lots of handinesses. You’ll find Google Search and Google Maps on this phone. Since it supports 3.5G high-speed Internet, which gives a burstable bandwidth of 3.6Mbps, there should be no issue using these Google apps on this phone.

The phone’s Glide UI together with the touchscreen capability also give the users easiness to operate the phone. Some more it gives fast response to users and runs number of features quickly, courtesy of a 624MHz processor that powers this phone.

The Glide user interface on this phone also taps on the user’s gestures. Sliding your finger left, right, tapping the screen will get you to navigate through the menus of this phone. You also can perform other actions such as zooming, scrolling and flipping etc.

Besides the 3.5G Internet connectivity, the device also supports 802.11b/g WiFi, so you can hook up to WiFi zones while the 3.5G is not available. This Glide-enabled Asus smartphone is due for the market in early 2009.
