HTC’s first WiMAX-enabled handset, T8290

October 10th, 2008 by ketyung

HTC has got their first handset, T8290, which is capable of hooking up to WiMAX network. As a cellphone, it supports the GSM cellular network.

The T8290 also sports a 3.8-inch display screen that has an impressive 800 x 480 WVGA resolution. The phone is also capable of other connectivities such as Bluetooth and WiFi.

There is a Yota logo at the back of this phone, which says it’s only meant for the Russian WiMax network. On the screen, it’s obvious that the phone displays some Russian characters.

There is no further information whether this phone will enter other markets. The phone was first spotted at nedge2k.com with a couple of the leaked photos.
