The Nintendo DSi is the latest version of Nintendo DS which has just been announced by Nintendo. The DSi comes with more features packed on a slightly smaller case.

The DSi also features clamshell design and dual screens, same as what the DS Lite has, but the chassis is about 2.6mm thinner. The dual screens on the DSi are slightly larger, which measures 3.25 inches instead of the 3 inches found on the older versions.

The DSi is also equipped with a couple of new digital cameras, one on the outside and one on the hinge inside. These digital cameras might bring more funs for games that need you to take photos of yourself and others. And you can store those taken photos onto SD card. The SD card slot on the DSi is now the only slot for you to load games, pictures, music onto the device. The company has ommited the GBA cartridge slot. This makes the device far more portable as you now don’t have to bring along those game cartridges with you.

The DSi is also equipped with wireless connectivity which you can hook the device up to the Internet for downloading games from the Nintendo’s DSi shop. And of course, with the Internet connection this device you can also surf the Internet with the on-board browser.

DSiWare games can be purchased with point system. The device itself is loaded with 1000 points initially. The DSi is only confirmed to be rolled out in Japan on November 1 for a price tag of $179. But there seems to be no news for the availability in the US.
