Anna Konda is a robotic snake that was built for one purpose i.e. to be a fire fighter, shooting water to put our fire.
This snakebot measures 3 meters long, weighs 75 KG, has 22 joins which each has 33 degrees of freedom. This snake is powered by water. There are a couple of hydraulic valves and cylinders found on each join, which are capable of handling water pressure up to 1450 psi.
Since the snake is powered by water, you won’t be able to control it untethered. But it shouldn’t be a major problem since this robotic snake is made solely for fighting fire. The high water pressure also makes this snake strong and cool while moving through burning areas surrounded by fire.
It’d also be a good idea, to hook this robotic snake up to your garden hose to let it wiggle around to water your precious plants. This robotic snake is being developed by SINTEF in Norway, and they’re now looking for partners to bring it up to a more complete system.
